Seeing Machines (SM) is the world leader in the field of Safety-AI and prides itself on developing technologies that save lives, for real!
Around the globe and at any time of the day, there are thousands of vehicles on the roads that are using state-of-the-art operator monitoring technology developed by SM which provides real-time protection from distraction and fatigue events. We work with the world's leading OEMs across multiple transport sectors of automotive, commercial road transport (Fleet), and aviation. In automotive, we enable safer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving (AD) solutions. We are currently working with the biggest carmakers from around the world! In Fleet, our best-in-class aftermarket product Guardian provides safety for the drivers and fleet operators, and in aviation, our advanced gaze tracking technology understands how pilots interact and monitor instruments – leading to better training and safer operations.
Inside SM's innovation engine, Machine Intelligence is an elite capability consisting of world-class researchers from the field of deep learning, machine learning, computer vision and embedded systems. The group has a singular objective of developing cutting-edge next-generation technology that is scalable, efficient, and cost-effective. The ideas developed by the group have a very high impact factor and they directly influence SM's technology roadmap.
As a part of our work, you will be working with the absolute cutting-edge technology in the field of deep learning and computer vision; and exploring the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of driver and operator monitoring. Come, join us and help us design the cars of the future!
We are looking for outstanding engineers who are passionate about AI, software engineering and big data.
Working closely with the team of MI researchers, you will be responsible for building cutting-edge proof-of-concept AI systems that are highly optimized and can deliver real-time performance. You will have the following main responsibilities:
- Develop promising new technologies and tools in the field of deep learning, machine learning and computer vision to solve some very hard unsolved problems.
- Work closely with multiple collaborators (both internal and external), take ownership of the research outputs, understand the science behind it and incorporate it in the group's technology demonstrator.
Furthermore, the team maintains strong university relations and works on strategically important projects with the university partners, often funding PhD students. In line with MI group's advanced research activities, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with our university partners, work with PhD students and publish the work in the academic journals and conferences.
If you are an engineer who has a passion for building AI systems and deploying them in the real-world, then come and join us!
You will have:
- Post-graduate qualification (PHD or Master's in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Mechatronics, or equivalent) or outstanding Bachelor's qualification with relevant work experience.
- Experience in deep learning (tensorflow or pytorch), machine learning and computer vision.
- Experience in building and deploying AI systems.
- Experience writing code in C++.
- Strong problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally you will also have:
- Experience with CUDA and TensorRT.
- Experience with Embedded hardware (for example, NVIDIA Jetson)
- Experience with Git and Docker
- Experience with MLOps to maintain deep learning infrastructure.
This role is paying between $80,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation. To apply, please include an updated resume and a cover letter outlining your interest in the role, and how you could make a difference at Seeing Machines.
About Seeing Machines
We are a global company founded in 2000 and headquartered in Australia, and an industry leader in vision-based monitoring technology that enable machines to see, understand and assist people.
Seeing Machines' technology portfolio of AI algorithms, embedded processing and optics, power products that need to deliver reliable real-time understanding of vehicle operators.
The technology spans the critical measurement of where a driver is looking, through to classification of their cognitive state as it applies to accident risk. Reliable “driver state” measurement is the end-goal of Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) technology.
Seeing Machines develops DMS technology to drive safety for Automotive, Commercial Fleet, Off-road and Aviation. The company has offices in Australia, USA, Europe and Asia, and supplies technology solutions and services to industry leaders in each market vertical.
